At least you didn’t do it in a P305/30R19 like I did last year.

On an AWD.

Instantly erased the savings of not shipping it enclosed trailer.

Put on some rubber cement and screw it all the way in? (Don’t actually do that).

No road hazard warranty I take it?

Did it flatten it? This looks like just a flesh wound.

My wife developed a bubble on her sidewall on Monday. When I went to take the kids to school in my Jeep one of my tires was completely flat. Thankfully, her tire was covered under warranty and my flat was fixed for free.

Meh, you really shouldn’t drink before driving anyway.

Find a place that will shave just one tire for you so you don’t have to replace all 4.

That is absolutely not how it works. The ONLY time that is acceptable is when you have an identical replacement tire. Any shop that shaves to match depth on mismatched tires should be shut down before they kill someone.

And the P305/30R19 should have tipped you off that they’re not just hard to find, but also staggered (and extremely expensive.) Everyone was shocked that I was lucky enough to find a pair made in 2017 - because that was the latest batch of PZeros they had made. This was in August of 2018.

305/30-19 is the rear size on this car so yeah, could have been worse

Oh yeah. PZeros are not cheap. And the way I drive (often and hard) I’ll probably need new tires again before winter.

edit: oh, and I have to do tires and  wheels on the Jeep. Because fucking gravity cast chrome shitshows. Chrome peel and significant corrosion, whee.

I run extremecontact sports, so they're on the cheaper side of high end tires

I get screwed either way, because I absolutely have to have XLs and preferably N’s. I run 40psi hot front, 47psi hot back. Insane grip, less inner sidewall shredding .

I though it would be very clear you’d do it on a same model tire. I am not quite sure why you are so positive I meant doing this on a mismatched tire. And what does staggered tire size have to do with shaving one replacement tire?

If you think someone should know that a certain tire size is hard to find - without even mentioning the tire model or the fact they are rare or discontinued... I think you’re expecting a bit too much out of someone that never had to shop for that tire size. But the fact they are rare and expensive should mean you should be trying to find one and shave it before any other option, right? Unless you like spending money on a new pair.
